In a highly contemporary vision, the company's eight dancers deliver a vibrant tribute to the original story, with poetry tinged with impetuosity and contagious energy. The conflicts and inner turmoil here are magnificently rendered by dance and music, and finding a particular resonance. Symphonie dramatique also summons Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky, Gounod and many others on the soundtrack concocted by composer and sampler Martin Tétreault, who boldly hijacks the musical scores inspired by this tragedy.
