Loosely inspired by the legendary tale The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum, oZe reveals a talented quartet with varied practices and backgrounds.
To create oZe, Ismaël Mouaraki immersed himself in the captivating world of the legendary tale The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum. Inspired by this literary masterpiece's four protagonists and their fantastic journey , the choreographer brings together an independent Dorothy, an endearing lion, a contortionist scarecrow and a charismatic iron man in a colorful and chaotic universe reminiscent of illustrator Olimpia Zagnoli's work. The four talented and athletic performers bring to life an abstract adventure where the protagonists become aware of the qualities and resistances buried deep within themselves. oZe thus offers a reflection on tolerance and acceptance of oneself, others and the world, while addressing the notions of risk, abandonment and loss of control. Kids and adults alike will identify with this show, for within each of us is a lion, a scarecrow or an iron man in search of his courage, his heart or his path.
